DBU Chancellor Dr Zora Singh honoured at Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment

MANDI GOBINDGARH, Mar 28: Desh Bhagat University (DBU) proudly announces that its Hon'ble Chancellor, Dr. Zora Singh, has been conferred with a Certificate of Appreciation by the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India, at New Delhi, in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan (NMBA).
The award was presented by Shri Sukhwinder Singh Bindra, Member - National Institute of Social Defence (NISD) & Special Invitee (NCCDR), acknowledging Dr Zora Singh's visionary leadership and dedicated efforts towards promoting a drug-free society, youth empowerment, and community awareness. Under his dynamic guidance, Desh Bhagat University has actively contributed to the mission of Nasha Mukt Bharat through large-scale awareness campaigns and community outreach programs, Organization of seminars, workshops, and expert sessions on substance abuse prevention, Active student engagement through NCC, NSS, and youth-led initiatives, Promotion of counselling, rehabilitation awareness, and value-based education, Collaboration with government bodies and social organizations.
These initiatives have played a significant role in sensitising youth and society about the harmful effects of substance abuse and encouraging a healthy and responsible lifestyle.
Sharing his thoughts on the occasion, Dr Zora Singh said, "I am deeply honoured to receive this recognition from the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India. The Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan is not just a campaign, but a national responsibility. At Desh Bhagat University, we are committed to empowering our youth with awareness, values, and purpose so that they become catalysts of a drug-free and progressive India. I sincerely thank the Ministry and the Government of India for this honour, and Shri Sukhwinder Singh Bindra, Member - NISD & Special Invitee (NCCDR), for presenting this recognition."
