Soldier died in firing

An army personnel was reportedly killed during a firing between suspected militants and the security forces in Rajpora Zachaldara the area falling under jurisdiction of Police Station Handwara, police sources said.
The deceased has been identified as Soldier L. N Guru Raj No. 15613705 who succumbed to his bullet injuries received during a combat.
Based on specific input during intervening night of May 30/31, the troops of 21 RR launched an ambush in general area of Rajpora Zachaldara, the troops when tightened the cordon on suspected militants at general area who were fired upon by militants hiding in forest area, sources said.
Though the fire was retaliated and in the ensuing gun fight two soldiers sustained bullet injuries who were evacuated to Military Hospital Drugmullah for further treatment. Police has registered a case in this regard.
