Early Times Report JAMMU, Apr 5: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference Additional General Secretary Ajay Sadhotra and Provincial President , Jammu,Ratan Lal Gupta on Sunday accused the BJP of neglecting Jammu City, asserting that only an NC-led administration can restore the city to its rightful status. Addressing a meeting of party functionaries in Jammu West, chaired by District President Chandar Mohan Sharma and organized by Ankush Arbol and Block President Devinder Sharma, Sadhotra said, "Jammu has always welcomed refugees and displaced people on account of wars in 65, 71 and turmoil in Kashmir, sharing its limited resources with everyone. Yet, under BJP rule for the past 11 years, our city has been ignored. No real infrastructure projects roads, bridges, hospitals, colleges, or recreational facilities were initiated. Even the so-called 'Smart City' project collapsed during the flash floods, exposing BJP's hollow promises." Sadhotra added, "Jammu is the winter capital and the heart of Dogra culture, yet BJP policies have sidelined our heritage, our traders, and our people. Big retail chains are favored over local businesses, and floods have pushed our city decades back. BJP's agenda seems clear: divide the people, ignore local needs, and leave Jammu behind." Highlighting the progress made under CM Omar Abdullah, Gupta said, "Efforts are underway to correct BJP's mismanagement, but change can only accelerate if the NC wins all local bodies. We have a clear vision: modernize cities and towns, invest in health, housing, roads, recreation, and disaster management, create free Wi-Fi zones, libraries, gyms, and indoor stadiums, and protect Dogra heritage while supporting local traders." Gupta concluded, "The choice in these elections is clear: continue with BJP's neglect and division, or vote for NC's holistic development agenda in the upcoming urban local body elections to bring Jammu and the region into the modern era." |
