EARLY TIMES REPORT UDHAMPUR, JUNE 1: A four-day Inter-school Badminton Tournament organized by Amar Major Shatrujeet Singh Kotwal Memorial Trust, at JK Public School, Udhampur concluded, last evening. Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Dr. Pawan Kotwal was the chief guest on the valedictory function. DIG Udhampur-Reasi Range, Gulzar Singh Slathia, DDC Udhampur, Ajay Khajuria, SSP, Surinder Gupta, SP City, Rajeshwar Singh, Vice- President, Municipality, Prahlad Singh, District Social Welfare Officer, Tehsildar and Social Worker, Dr. K. C. Sharma and Principals of different schools were present on the occasion. In Girls single Badminton match, Aaliya of BBSVP Udhampur trounced Arisha of Indira Memorial Higher Secondary School, Battal Ballian by 2-0 while in girls double badminton Aaliya and Rahi of BBSVP defeated Nafia and Tulika of Nehru Memorial Udhampur by 2-0. Similarly, in Boys single Badminton, Shivam of Happy Model School, Udhampur defeated Saurabh of JK Public School by 2-1 while in doubles Saurabh and Deepak of JK Public School defeated Shivam and Anshul of Happy Model School by 2-0. Organizer of the tournament, Mr. Ranjeet Singh giving a resume of the tournament said that 72 said that the tournament was started on May 28 in which 72 players of nine educational institutions of the district participated.
