| Agri Technocrats demand regularization | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, June 01 - Jammu and Kashmir Agricultural Technocrats Association today appealed the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to implement his commitment regarding permanent regularization for Rebhar-e-Zirats. Addressing media persons here today, Dr Surinder Radotra, president of the association said that the agricultural technocrats who were engaged under Rehber-e-Ziraat were assured by the Government and even Chief Minister that their issue should be taken up with priority after parliamentary election. He further said that the Model code of conduct is now lifted and government should address the demand as early as possible. Radotra said that since cabinet approved appointment of Agri-technocrats under Rehbar-e-Zirat Scheme last year but still policy for regularizing has not been framed. He added hundreds of agriculture technocrats, who were engaged under Rehbar-e-Zirat in Agriculture Production Department on stipend of Rs.1500 per month in April, 2007 by a Cabinet approval. Radotra appealed Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to immediately frame SRO regarding those engaged under Rehbar-e-Zirat and their absorption as regular employees. The agricultural technocrats said that any delay in making policy to regularize them should not be tolerated. The association will not hesitate to restart agitation in Srinagar if their demand was not accepted. Those present on the occasion were Dr Shakti Sharma, Rajeev Sharma, Dr Amit Gupta, Dr Vinod Sharma, Dr Maneet Singh Dr Jatinder Verrma and Dr Vinod Kumar.
