| Batwal association dissolved, election committee formed | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, June 1: Jammu and Kashmir Batwal community held a meeting at Shahzad Pur Kothi, under the chairmanship of Lt. Col (Retd) Manohar Lal Kaith. The representative body of the Batwal community namely Jammu and Kashmir Batwal welfare association was dissolved as its tenure has been over. Dr. Ramesh Kumar Kaith, joint election commissioner was authorized to constitute his election committee and issue a notification for holding fresh election of the said association. The community honoured its outstanding students namely Manmeet Chanjotra, Ruchi Motan, Lalita Motan and Sonali Kaith for earning ‘Distinctions’ in the recently declared result of secondary school examination and it also greeted their parents. They demanded of ‘economic & employment package’ for the Batwal community members in the XIth five year plan on the basis of the report of the ethnography studies of the Batwal community conducted in 1994 by the central planning commission, was felt a prime necessity in the meeting. Prominent among those who attended the meeting included Messrs ex-MLA Sat Paul Lakhotra, R.L. Kaith, Mela Ram Tugga, Capt. Om Parkash Tugga, Capt. Behari Lal Sandhu, Capt. Raj Kaith, Capt. Gunni Ram Kaith, Capt. Ram Lal Lakhotra etc.
