| LG Sinha, Saxena, DPAP chairman mourns death of legendry singer Asha Bhosle | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Apr 12: Jammu and Kashmir Lt Governor Manoj Sinha, Ladakh Lt Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena and Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP) chairman Ghulam Nabi Azad expressed their grief over the demise of iconic singer Asha Bhosle. The 92-year-old singer, who ruled Bollywood for over seven decades with her wide range of memorable songs, passed away on Sunday due to multi-organ failure at Breach Candy Hospital in south Mumbai. "With Asha Bhosle ji's passing, the nation mourns a cultural icon whose timeless melodies will resonate in hearts for generations. From immortal songs & soulful ghazals to devotional masterpieces, her voice captivated millions across eras. My condolences to her family & admirers," Lt Governor Sinha said in a post on X. Ladakh Lt Governor also expressed his grief on the death of Bhosle and said she was a personification of unparalleled versatility and her soulful voice enriched innumerable songs across genres. "With her unparalleled contribution to the world of music, she left an indelible mark on India's cultural and entertainment landscape. Her melodies will keep entertaining several generations of music lovers and her artistry will inspire artists for decades to come," Saxena said, expressing condolences with her family and millions of admirers across the world. Azad, former chief minister of J-K, said he was saddened to hear about the passing of Bhosle, a legendary singer known for her unmatched versatility. "She was one of the most iconic voices in Indian music, leaving behind a rich and timeless legacy in cinema and the music industry. Her songs will continue to inspire generations to come. My heartfelt condolences to her family and loved ones. May her soul rest in peace!" Azad said in a post on X. |
