Fire Service Week, being observed from 14th to 20th April, is an important occasion to renew our collective commitment towards fire safety, prevention, and disaster resilience across Jammu & Kashmir. On Fire Service Day, we pay our solemn tributes to the brave firefighters who made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty. Their courage, dedication, and spirit of selfless service exemplify the highest ideals of public service and continue to inspire the nation. I extend my sincere appreciation to the Fire & Emergency Services, J&K, for their exemplary role in protecting lives and property. The department has emerged as a vital component of our emergency response system, demonstrating exceptional capability not only in firefighting but also in rescue and disaster management operations. Their tireless efforts, often under challenging circumstances, reflect their unwavering commitment to public safety. The theme for this year, "Safe School, Safe Hospital & Fire Safety Aware Society - Together for Fire Prevention," highlights the importance of strengthening fire safety mechanisms in critical sectors and fostering a culture of awareness and preparedness among citizens. Ensuring fire safety is a shared responsibility. I call upon all institutions, stakeholders, and citizens to actively participate in Fire Service Week activities and adopt best safety practices in their daily lives. Let us work together to build a safer, more secure, and resilient Jammu & Kashmir. (Hon'ble Lieutenant Governor) Jammu & Kashmir |
