Early Times Report JAMMU, Apr 14: The Central University of Jammu (CUJ) organized an academic trip cum training camp for the students of Centre for Comparative Religion and Civilization (CCRC) at Bhaderwah in Doda district of J&K, UT. Altogether twenty students, research scholars and faculty members took part in this two days academic trip cum training camp. This academic trip cum training camp was led by the director of CCRC, Prof. Niranjna Bhandari along with three faculty members. Prof. Bhandari said that the event was organized to provide students experiential learning opportunities and field based learning exposure. This academic event was initiated by the inspiration of Honorable Vice Chancellor, Central University of Jammu, Prof. Sanjeev Jain. Prof. Bhandari said that the first auspicious visit was to Vasuki Nag Temple which is associated with ancient serpent worship traditions. The second visit was to Chandi Mata temple. This fascinated the entire community with firsthand knowledge of regional traditions and architectural types. Local people said that this temple attracts a large number of pilgrims during the festival of Navratri celebrations. Surely, the peaceful and spiritually uplifting atmosphere of the temple enhanced the learning of geography and ecology of the students. Director said that students visited Bhaderkali Bhawan and also Bhaderwah campus of University of Jammu. In Nalthi Park everyone had a thrilling time enjoying nature, photography, sketching landscapes, short hikes and exploration and nature walks made it very soothing. The most anticipated moment for everyone was undaunted and exhilarating walking on fresh snow. Group games in snow, short hikes, frolic jumps all filled enthusiasm in the hearts of participants. Faculty members- Dr. Arvind Rituraj, Dr, Amita Gupta and Dr. G.V. Snigdha Raj, research scholars-Rohit, Naresh, Deewanshu, Rishita, Heenam and Ankit, PG students- Vishal, Aditi, Aman, Himanshi, Ojusvi, Astha, Sorabh took part in this academic and cultural trip. |
