Rehmat of Punjab bags Umara More Kesari title

JAMMU, June 01: Outplaying wrestler Narinder of Delhi in a neck to neck contest, Rehmat Ali of Maller Kotla in Punjab clinched the 2nd Annual Umara More Kesari title in a dangal held at Umara More in district Udhampur.
Dangal was organized by Umara More Dangal Committee in association with J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association under the supervision of Shiv Kumar Sharma, president of the Association.
The winner of main bout, Rehmat Ali was awarded cash prize of Rs 6,000 while runners-up, Narinder bagged Rs 5,000 as cash prize. In all, 64 bouts were played wherein local wrestlers hailing from Reasi, Udhampur, Jammu, Kathua, Rajouri besides from HP, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, UP as also from J&K Police and BSF participated.
Member Parliament, Lal Singh was the chief guest in this dangal while Shiv Kumar Sharma presided. Superintendent of Police, Benam Tosh, senior BJP leader Pawan Kumar Gupta, Station House Officer, Udhampur, Ravel Choudhary and Sunil Badiyal were the guests of honour. General secretary of J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association, Rakesh Khajuria and BJP city president, Raj Kumar Bucha were also present on the occasion.
In the second main bout Benia Bean of J&K Police defeated Abdul Gani of Maller Kotla to receive a cash prize of Rs 3,500 while loser Benia got Rs 2,500. Third main bout was between Onkar Singh of BSF and Raju of Hoshiarpur in Punjab remained undecided after a 21-minute marathon battle. Roshan Lal of Muthi in Jammu bagged the fourth bout beating wrestler Satbir of Delhi.
Other results: Swarn Singh bt Mohanu, Subash bt Deepa, Prem Verma bt Ravinder, Onkar Singh bt Dana, Dillar Khan bt Kuldeep Singh, Kuldeep bt Kaka, Rinku bt Sonu, Murad Ali bt Prittam Singh, Gopal bt Khajjan Singh, Billu bt Hardev, Gulshan Kumar bt Banka, Pappu bt Lucky. Bouts between Lashman Singh and Yaseen, Tirthu and Karnail Singh, Anoop Singh and Babari, and Kulbir Singh and Gopi ended in a draw.
