| DC Shopian transferred | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Srinagar, June 1: Taking strong notice of district adminsitration’s failure to deal with the situation following the alleged rape and murder of a girl and a woman, Jammu and Kashmir government today ordered transfer of Deputy Commission Shopian.
As per the order issued by GAD Mohammad Ramzan Thakur, Deputy Commissioner, Shopian has been transferred and posted as Additional commission Kashmir, against an available vacancy. He is retiring on June 30, 2009.
Abdul Majid Khandey Deputy Commissioner, Ganderbal has been appointed as new Deputy Commissioner Shopian.
The order further says that Iftikhar-ul-Hasnain (KAS), Additional District Development Commissioner Ganderbal shall hold the charge of Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal in addition to his own charge.
