Special training initiative to sharpen security response of police personnel

JAMMU, Apr 16: A two-day training module aimed at enhancing alertness, preparedness and professional competence among Police personnel commenced at District Police Lines (DPL) Jammu as well as District Lines Kishtwar on 15.04.2024. The programme is being conducted by the team of Security Wing, J&K Police, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the operational efficiency and responsiveness of personnel deployed on security duties from District Police during VVIP/VIP movement and other important events/ occasions.
On the second day, focused training sessions were conducted on VIP security arrangements and the effective handling of security gadgets. The sessions were designed to familiarize the participants with standard operating procedures, emerging security challenges and the proper use of modern equipment in real-time scenarios.
The training programme witnessed the participation of approximately 250 Police personnel, including Gazetted Officers (GOs) and Non-Gazetted Officers (NGOs), reflecting a broad-based approach towards capacity building across different ranks.
Rakesh Kumar, JKPS, Staff Officer to IGP Security J&K & Shri Khalid Amin, SSP Security, J&K addressed and gave comprehensive briefings to the participants. The officers emphasized the importance of such training programmes in the present security environment and highlighted the need for continuous skill up-gradation to effectively tackle evolving threats and challenges. They also impressed upon the participants to internalize the learnings and apply them diligently in the field to ensure robust and foolproof security arrangements.
