| Farooq says will continue as NC chief | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, June 01- Even after becoming Union Minister in the cabinet of Dr Manmohan Singh, National Conference Chief Dr Farooq Abdullah is not willing to handover the charge of the party. In an exclusive interview to a private news channel in New Delhi Dr Abdullah has made it clear that even after becoming union minister he will continue to hold the charge of the party president and had no plans of giving up. "I will keep the charge of the party with me and I will continue to look after the party affairs", Dr Abdullah made it clear during half an hour interview. On the question of becoming chief minister and inviting Omar Abdullah to New Delhi, Dr Abdullah jokingly remarked," I have had enough of state politics”. "I am not fit enough to climb those mighty hills, let Omar handle the responsibility on his own". Reacting to reports and criticism that he was given a raw deal by the Prime Minister when it came to allocating portfolios, Dr Abdullah made a political comment by admitting that he is not going to be in the ministry for too long. If I will be convinced that I am not performing well I will be the first person to step out of the ministry on my own. He added, "I am here to do service to the nation and small or big portfolio do not matter to me much.” “If I will pass the litmus test, sky is the only limit for me”, Dr Abdullah added.
