DyCM suspends EO, 6 others

JAMMU, JUNE 02– Asserting on beautification of towns and major cities to line the tourists so as to boost Tourism, Deputy Chief Minister, Mr. Tara Chand convened several meetings at Jammu, Samba and Kathua with senior officers of various departments.
During inspection of Municipal Committee Bishnah, the Incharge Executive Officer alongwith six other officials were suspended for unauthorized absence from duty. The movement register was seized besides other records were also checked. In this regard, Mr. Tara Chand constituted a Committee headed by Director Local Bodies, Jammu to probe the matter and submit report accordingly for further action.
At Bari Brahamana, the Deputy Chief Minister inspected the new constructions and enquired about the building permission and other requisites for fresh constructions.
Works undertaken under UIDSSMT (Urban Infrastructure Development scheme Small and Medium Towns) and IDMT (Integrated Development of Medium Towns) in various towns were also inspected.
At Samba, a Committee was constituted under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Samba with Revenue Officers, Tehsildar concerned, SDPO/SHO, AEE, SE, JDA, Executive Officers of concerned municipalities as its member to monitor the new constructions along the National Highway. The Committee would review the progress of development works and submit weekly report to Deputy Chief Minister.
At Vijaypur, for the beautification of town area, Mr. Tara Chand asked the Revenue authorities to identify space for local rehariwalas so as to shift them to appropriate location. At Kathua various development works taken up under IDMT were inspected besides scenario of water supply and solid waste management were also taken stock of.
Mr. Tara Chand exhorted the officers to work in double shifts so as to complete the under execution works in shortest possible time. He also asked for strict implementation of ban on use of polythene throughout.
