| Market checking squads raid Pahalwan Di Hatti, under weight items seized | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, JUNE 02- As a sequel to ensure availability of unadulterated and quality eatables to the consumers, a special squad today conducted raid on Pahalwan Di Hatti at Bari-Brahmana under Food & Adulteration Act and seized an unverified electronic weighing machine and some eatables under Package Commodity Rule and J&K Weights & Measures Act respectively at Bari-Barhmana here today.
The squad comprising Assistant Controller, Legal Meteorology, Mr. V.S.Sambyal, Assistant Director CA&PD, Executive Officer, Municipal Committee Bari-Brahmana, Inspector Legal Metrology, TSO Vijaypur and Inspector Municipal Committee Vijaypur found that the rate lists have not been properly displayed by the shop keepers and there are certain discrepancies in the rates as prescribed by the district administration.
The team also seized lassie glasses which being served without net contents under Package Commodity Rule besides lifting samples of curd and sweet nuts for analysis in the Laboratory.
District Price Collector, who is District Development Commissioner, Samba, Mr. Saurabh Bhagat has strictly instructed the special squad to ensure frequent inspections of the markets and effectively implement all quality control measures in the district especially during Shri Amarnathji Yatra so that they could not be exploited with overcharging, black-marketing and profiteering.
