PM Modi’s Decisive Blow
4/28/2026 11:41:14 PM
While addressing an election rally recently Union Home Minister Amit Shah praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi hitting terrorism hard by taking bold steps like abrogation of Article 370, surgical strikes and Operation Sindoor.
When Narendra Modi took over as the Prime Minister of India in 2014, the terrorism was a major cause of concern. But during the past 12 years of PM Modi’s rule situation has changed. Terrorists and their sponsors have been told in clear terms that terrorism won’t be tolerated.
PM Modi has dealt a decisive blow to terrorism through surgical strikes, airstrikes, and Operation Sindoor. The terrorists have been hunted in their own dens.
The surgical strikes carried out across the Line of Control in 2016 after the Uri attack marked a watershed moment. They demonstrated that India was prepared to strike terror launch pads and dismantle infrastructure nurturing violence. This was followed by the Balakot airstrikes in 2019 after the Pulwama attack, sending another strong signal that the country would not hesitate to act beyond conventional limits when its security was threatened. These actions redefined India’s strategic posture and established deterrence as a central pillar of policy.
Equally significant was the abrogation of Article 370 in 2019, which integrated Jammu and Kashmir more closely with the national mainstream. While the move had political and constitutional dimensions, it also carried security implications. It sought to remove barriers that had long been exploited by separatist narratives and vested interests. Since then, there has been a visible push towards development, grassroots democracy, infrastructure expansion, tourism revival, and youth engagement in the Union Territory. Security and development, when pursued together, become the strongest antidote to extremism.
Operation Sindoor, launched after the Pahalgam terror attack, further reinforced India’s zero-tolerance policy. It conveyed that any attempt to spill innocent blood would invite swift and firm retaliation. The symbolism of the operation lies not only in military response but in the confidence it inspires among citizens—that the nation stands ready to defend them.
Prime Minister Modi’s tenure has shown that decisive leadership can alter the trajectory of national security. Terror groups that once acted with impunity now know that India’s response will be swift and resolute. Yet vigilance can never be relaxed. Terrorism constantly mutates, adapting new methods and technologies.
