Early Times Report KATRA, Apr 29: Govt. Degree College Katra, in collaboration with the Jammu and Kashmir Police, organised a symposium as part of the 100-day campaign against drug abuse under the aegis of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan. The programme was conducted under the able leadership of the Principal, Dr. Rajni Bhagat. The event was coordinated by Prof. Mohd Younus Saleem, Nodal Officer NMBA. A total of seven student speakers participated in the symposium and shared their insightful views on the theme "Drugs: The Silent Killer." The primary objective of the programme was to sensitise students about the harmful effects of drug abuse and to encourage them to contribute towards building a drug-free society. Khushi Goswami secured the first position while Gungun and Rohini jointly bagged the second position. The third position was awarded to Riya Thakur. The panel of jury members comprised Prof. Nasar Ahmed, Dr. Usha Sharma, and Dr. Bindu Rajput. Each participant was given five minutes to present their views and the time was monitored by Dr. Abdul Hafiz. The Chief Guest and Resource Person Mr. Akhilesh Khajuria, Incharge Police Post Kakryal, addressed the gathering and motivated students to actively support law enforcement agencies in curbing the menace of drug abuse. The programme concluded with a formal vote of thanks presented by Prof. Mohd Younus Saleem. A pledge under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan was also administered to the participants. Among others present on the occasion were Dr. Sajaad Iqbal Khan and Prof. Shikha Bhasin. |
