JAMMU, June 02: The 37-minute long fight remained undecided resulting into organizers declaring Prince of Amritsar and Rehmat Ali of Mallerkotla in Punjab joint winner of the 105th annual Devi Bani Kesari dangal title at Devi Bani Mandir Manwal in Udhampur.
Both the wrestlers fighting for the title were given away Rs 4000 each as prize money by special guests, Shiv Kumar Sharma and Yash Paul Sharma.
Dangal was organised by Manwal Dangal Committee in association with J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association.
In all, 58 bouts were played in the day long dangal. President J&K Bajrang Dal, Nand Kishore, R K Kichloo (S.H.O), Lambardar Bishan Dass, Gouri Singh, Ramik Nowada, Dr. Krishan Lal, Surinder (SI) and Pt. Dwarka Nath were among others present.
In the second main bout Benia Bean of J&K Police defeated Raju of Ferozpur after a marathon 26 minute fight. While winner Benia got Rs 3,000 as cash prize, Raju was given away Rs 2,000. Third main bout was won by Abdul Gani of Mallerkotla who beat Roshan Lal of Jammu. In fourth bout, Onkar Singh of BSF Jammu trounced Raju of Ajnala while Qasim Din (Billu) of J&K Police beat Raju of Kapurthala in fifth fight.
Dangal was technically supervised by the team comprised of Yash Paul Gupta, Makhan Lal, Sanjay Kumar, Durga Dass Kesar, Uttam Singh, Devi Dass, Sagar Singh, Rajinder Singh, Hem Raj Gupta, Kishori Lal Gupta, Karnail Singh, Bishan Dass Lamberdar, Capt Lehar Singh (Retd) Mohd Fareed, Vijay Singh (Biju)and Om Parkash Verma.
Other results: Tirthu bt Sanjay, Kuldeep Singh bt Haniff, Yasheen bt Kuldeep Singh, Shaiya bt Kalu, Mohanu bt Prem Verma, Thirhu bt Kalu, Ali bt Prem Verma, Yasheen bt Hussain, Sucha bt Bitta, Dana bt Mohanu, Vicky bt Gopal Rajesh bt Dillar Khan, Sandeep bt Souara Din, Kaka bt Rajesh Singh, Murad Ali bt Sanju, Raj Singh bt Kaka, Hussain bt Baboo. Bouts between Subash and Makhan, Nishu and Sunny and Sandeep and Mustaq Ali ended in draw.
