Early Times Report UDHAMPUR, May 2: Under the initiative of National Platform for Women - SHE BOX (Government of India and Government of JK), Government Degree College Neeli Nallah, Udhampur organized an awareness lecture on the provisions of the Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) Act, 2013, and the SHe-Box initiative with the objective of strengthening institutional mechanisms for the prevention of sexual harassment at the workplace and in educational institutions. The programme was conducted under the esteemed guidance of the worthy Principal of the college, Prof. (Dr.) Seema Arora. The event witnessed active participation from faculty members and students. Speaking on the occasion, the Principal emphasized the importance of creating a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all stakeholders. She highlighted that the rights of women employees and students, the responsibilities of institutions, and the role of the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) in addressing grievances in a fair and time-bound manner. Prof. Rekha Sharma, Convenor POSH Committee and Prof. Shaista Yasmeen, NSS PO elaborated on the key provisions of the POSH Act, 2013. Special focus was laid on the SHe-Box (Sexual Harassment electronic Box) initiative launched by the Government of India, which provides an online platform for women to register complaints related to sexual harassment at the workplace.
