| Central University of Punjab Students Undergo Advanced Research Training at Department of Zoology, BGSB University | | | Early Times Report RAJOURI, May 2: A week-long advanced research training programme for a group of students and a faculty member from the Central University of Punjab, Bathinda, concluded successfully at the Department of Zoology, Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University. The training programme was conducted from April 24 to May 1, 2026, in the research laboratory of Dr. A. A. Shah, with a special focus on contemporary techniques and approaches in nematode genomics research. During the programme, participants received extensive hands-on training in modern laboratory practices, including sample processing, data interpretation, and advanced techniques employed in the laboratory's ongoing research activities. The visiting students expressed immense satisfaction with the scientific environment and research culture of the Department of Zoology. They appreciated the quality and relevance of research being undertaken at BGSBU. The participants also acknowledged the significant contributions of the Nematode Genomics Research Laboratory, which holds the distinction of being the first research laboratory established at BGSBU in 2007. They described it as a vibrant centre for scientific learning and innovation that has played a key role in promoting quality research and academic excellence within the University. The visiting team appreciated the academic guidance, technical support, and cooperation extended by the research scholars associated with the laboratory. They also commended the support provided by the University staff, which ensured a productive and comfortable academic stay.
