He highlighted the growing public distress due to irregular water supply, unscheduled power cuts, and deteriorating infrastructure across urban and peripheral areas of Jammu. He stated that residents are facing immense hardships due to damaged roads, poor drainage systems, and lack of proper sanitation, which reflect administrative apathy and lack of accountability. Raman Bhalla further expressed serious concern over rising unemployment among youth, stating that the absence of concrete job opportunities and delayed recruitment processes have pushed many into frustration and uncertainty. He pointed out that inflation and the rising cost of living have added to the burden of common households, making survival increasingly difficult for economically weaker sections. He emphasized that every section of society, including daily wage earners, traders, employees, and students, is grappling with multiple challenges due to policy failures and lack of effective governance. Continuing his address, Raman Bhalla said that the Congress party remains committed to raising the voice of the people and holding the government accountable. He stressed the need for immediate corrective measures to ensure regular supply of essential services such as drinking water and electricity, improvement in civic amenities, and implementation of employment-generating initiatives. He urged the J&K Government to act promptly and responsibly to mitigate the sufferings of the people and restore public confidence. Highlighting seasonal concerns, Raman Bhalla also urged the government to gear up its preparations well in advance of the upcoming monsoon season to avoid any untoward incidents. He emphasized the urgent need to strengthen and clean the drainage system, prevent water logging in vulnerable areas, and ensure proper disaster preparedness to safeguard lives and property. He warned that negligence in this regard could lead to serious hardships for residents, especially in low-lying and densely populated localities. |
