| Director General NCC visiting J&K | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, June 03- The Director General National Cadet Corps Lt Gen RK Karwal, is visiting Jammu and Kashmir on three days official visit from June 5. The General is being accompanied by Geeta Karwal, the first lady of the National Cadet Corps. The General has visited the State, earlier as Additional Director General and commanded largest corps of the Indian Army in J&K.
Lt Gen Karwal is an alumnus of the National Defence Academy, Indian Military Academy and Defence Services Staff College. Commissioned in Rajput Regiment in 1970, the General has held prestigious appointments in his distinguished service of over 38 years including Military Advisor in Seychelles, Rashtriya Rifle sector in intense counter insurgency area and RAPID Infantry Division in strike role and various staff appointments. He was the Military Advisor in Pakistan during `Operation Prakram`. He also has the unique distinction of raising Human Rights Cell in Army Headquarters.
The General will be briefed on activities of the NCC in the State by Brigadier Anil Gupta, Deputy Director General. The General will visit Nagrota camping ground and institutions of Jammu group located in and around Jammu. Geeta Karwal will interact with the girl cadets during the visit.
