He made these remarks today while addressing an event at the party headquarters in Srinagar. The event was organised to welcome a prominent a prominent political and social leader Sabiya Bhat and her associates into Apni Party fold. She was Provincial General Secretary, Member State Committee, and In-charge of Kupwara Constituency in Samajwadi Party. All these new entrants hail from Batirgam Kupwara. Speaking on the occasion, Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari said, "I am pleased to see that women in Jammu and Kashmir are showing interest in leadership and actively engaging in social and political issues. I extend a warm welcome to Sabiya Bhat Ji and her associates to Apni Party, and I am confident that these new entrants will further strengthen the party cadre in their respective areas." He added, "I strongly believe that Apni Party's women wing will have to play a vital role in ensuring social justice and women's empowerment in Jammu and Kashmir. Apni Party will encourage women's participation in politics, and the doors of the party will always remain open to welcome women who wish to serve the people through this platform." Meanwhile, he reiterated his demand to the Centre to hold talks with the people of Jammu and Kashmir, especially the youth, in order to address the issues they are facing. He said, "There is no other option but to engage with the people of Jammu and Kashmir so that their genuine concerns and grievances are properly addressed."
