MANDI GOBINDGARH, May 15: The Agrim Club, under the aegis of Desh Bhagat University, successfully organized the Adieu (Farewell) and Alumni Meet 2026 at the APJ Abdul Kalam Seminar Hall. The event drew enthusiastic participation from students, alumni, faculty, and dignitaries, creating a memorable blend of emotions, celebrations, and cherished memories.
The program began with a floral welcome for Hon'ble Dr. Zora Singh, Chancellor, and Dr. Tajinder Kaur, Pro-Chancellor, followed by ceremonial lamp lighting and the DBU Anthem.
Prof. (Dr.) H. K. Sidhu, Director of the Faculty of Agriculture and Life Sciences, warmly welcomed the gathering. She inspired attendees with the words: "Education is a dress rehearsal for a life that is yours to lead."
Vibrant cultural performances by outgoing and junior students infused the event with energy and color. Highlights included the crowning of Ms. Jagriti Rajput as Ms. Fresher and Mr. Andleeb as Mr. Fresher; Ms. Avantia received the Ms. Personality title, and Mr. Rahul Raj was awarded Mr. Personality.
The Alumni Meet segment shone as alumni from across Indian states and abroad shared inspiring experiences, achievements, and fond memories. Their stories motivated current students and reinforced ties with the university.
Event organizer Dr. Avinash Kumar Bhatia emphasized how student-life memories shape personality and growth. Dr. Simranjeet Kaur expertly hosted the proceedings, complemented by engaging activities for faculty. The Chancellor and Pro-Chancellor praised the flawless organization. In his address, Dr. Zora Singh assured students they would always remain part of the DBU family, with unwavering support wherever needed. The event concluded with a vote of thanks from Dr. Avinash Kumar Bhatia and the National Anthem. Also present were Prof. (Dr.) Ajay Gupta, Dr. Sachin Bhardwaj, Ms. Shivangi Sood, and Mr. Ravinder Singh. |
