Viksit UP to be built on model of Arth Shakti, Srijan Shakti, Jeevan Shakti
5/15/2026 10:10:24 PM
Early Times Report

Lucknow, May 15: The Yogi government has prepared a visionary model to make Uttar Pradesh a developed state by the year 2047. Based on “Arth Shakti, Srijan Shakti and Jeevan Shakti,” this model will provide a new direction to the state’s economy, social development, innovation, infrastructure and good governance. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the state is moving towards becoming the leading state of the country on the basis of economic, industrial and social capability.
The goal of the Yogi government is that by the year 2047, Uttar Pradesh should not only become the country’s largest economy, but should also present such a model of inclusive development in which villages, farmers, youth, women and industries all have equal participation.
The economy of Uttar Pradesh has currently reached approximately 356 billion dollars, which places it among the top three economies of India. The Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) of the state has been growing continuously at a rapid pace. In the year 2020-21, it stood at Rs 16.83 lakh crore, which increased to Rs 30.25 lakh crore in the year 2024-25. The annual growth rate of the state has been recorded higher than the national average.
The greatest strength of Uttar Pradesh is its vast population and human resources. The state has a population of about 24 crore, which is nearly 17 percent of India’s total population. Of this, the share of the working-age population between 15 to 59 years is 62.80 percent. This youth power will become the biggest engine of the state’s economic progress in the future. The Yogi government has made “Arth Shakti” the main foundation of inclusive development. Under this, agriculture and allied sectors, manufacturing, MSMEs and the service sector will be given new energy. In the agricultural sector, emphasis is being laid on innovation, use of technology and value addition.
Uttar Pradesh is already a leading state in the country in foodgrain, sugarcane and milk production. Now the Yogi government is working towards increasing farmers’ income by linking agriculture with modern technology and agri-business.
The MSME sector has been considered the industrial backbone of the state. Under “Udyog ki Udaan,” a strategy has been prepared to provide finance, technology and markets to small and medium industries.
Through the ODOP Scheme, Nivesh Mitra Portal and industrial policy, the Yogi government has connected lakhs of youth with employment and self-employment. Through the concept of “Digital Pradesh,” services are being made technology-based. Through e-governance, digital payments, online services and expansion of the IT sector, the state is rapidly moving towards a digital economy.
Along with this, under “Aastha ko Samman,” religious tourism and cultural heritage have been linked with economic development.

Religious centres such as Ayodhya, Varanasi, Mathura and Prayagraj are now emerging on the global tourism map.
