| Peerzada frames panel to monitor school results | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, JUNE 4: Emphasizing on result oriented education so as to upgrade the education scenario and enable the students to vie at bigger fora, the Minister for Education, Peerzada Mohd Sayeed asserted on regular inspections of educational institutions and also on the performance of teachers.
Discussing on various issues pertaining to improvement in results in government schools particularly in the districts of Udhampur, Doda, Kishtwar and Ramban in a meeting convened with the Chief Education Officers and Principals of DIET of these district at Patnitop today. The Minister directed on maintaining constant vigil on the performance of teachers subject-wise. He said in case of low performance in any subject the concerned teacher would be taken to task. He asked the concerned CEOs to monitor the achievements and submit report to Director School Education and Secretary Education within a week time.
Secretary School Education Mr. G. A. Peer, Chairman BOSE Mr. Desh Bandu Gupta, Director School Education, Jammu, Mrs. Zahida Khan, Personnel Officer, Jammu, Mrs. Nerupa Rai and Chief Education Officers and Principals of DIET of Doda, Udhampur, Kishtwar and Ramban were present on the occasion.
On the implementation of government order regarding regular inspections, Mr. Sayeed asked the CEOs to conduct at least three inspections in a week of all schools within their jurisdiction to ensure complete attendance of teachers besides their grievances especially in far-flung, inaccessible areas. He said maintaining accountability and transparency in teaching learning process would not only help extract the best moreover bring out better results. He said the concerned ZEOs ought to be directed in this regard.
For improving the educational standard, the Minister said the CEOs should judge the intelligence of students by interacting with them and fix the responsibility on teachers for poor performance.
The Minister directed all CEOs and ZEOs of Jammu division to strictly adhere to the guidelines framed for streamlining the school education in the division. He said introduction of English language from first primary standard has been made mandatory so that school children pick up threads of the universal language early in tender age and do not face a daunting task later in their academic career.
