| Sharma takes over as director sheep husbandry | | | Early Times Report Jammu, June 4: Dr. J.P. Sharma took over as director sheep husbandry department, Jammu. After completing B.V.Sc & A.H from Rajasthan Veterinary College, Bikaner in 1974, Sharma had joined the department as veterinary assistant surgeon in the migratory project Kathua/ Bhaderwah and was promoted to the posts of sheep and wool development officer and deputy director in 1981 and 1984 respectively and was elevated as Joint Director in June 2007.
Hailing from a remote village Thial of block Majalta in Ramnagar (Udhampur) Dr. Sharma having a vast experience of field and farm management on scientific lines has served the department in various capacities in all the three region viz Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh of the state known for his technical knowledge, dedicated and discipline, Dr. Sharma is committed to the upliftment of down trodden breeder community and their livestock.
