Early Times Report
LUCKNOW, May 16: The Yogi government is now moving beyond limiting the education system to schools and enrolment and is preparing a new model of technology-based education management in the state by linking the complete educational journey of more than 4.24 crore students to a digital platform. Under the student progression campaign being run on the U-DISE portal for the academic session 2026-27, data of more than 3.44 crore students has been updated so far, while more than 90 percent student records at the basic education level have been digitally updated. The education system in the state is no longer limited to classrooms but is rapidly moving towards a strong system of data-based monitoring, digital tracking, and ensuring the benefits of schemes reach every child. This initiative of the Yogi government shows that large-scale work is being done to make education management completely technology-driven and transparent.
After the completion of U-DISE 2025-26 activities, the link for student progression activity was activated by NIC, New Delhi. Following this, continuous monitoring at the government level is being carried out and the campaign to update student details is being run in mission mode. According to the progress report issued as of May 18, 2026, the progression and updating work for over 3.44 crore students has been completed in the state, against a total student population of approximately 4,24,88,000.
At the basic education level, the data for the majority of the approximately 18,017,000 students has been updated. Meanwhile, at the secondary education level as well, the process of updating student data is progressing rapidly.
The state government is now working towards making the education system completely data-based. Digital monitoring of student progression, enrolment, attendance, and educational status is increasing transparency and also strengthening the better implementation of schemes.
The Yogi government has also directed schools to give priority to the new enrolment process for pre-primary and Class 1 admissions. The government's goal is that no child in the state should remain outside the education system and every student's digital record should be available on the portal on time.
The Yogi government is already working on giving a modern shape to the education system through Mission Prerna, NIPUN Bharat Mission, smart classes, and technology-based monitoring systems.
