Early Times Report UDHAMPUR, May 18: In a bid to strengthen the fight against drug abuse and encourage youth participation in sports, Shiv Kumar Sharma on Monday conducted a drug awareness programme and attended a cricket tournament at Roun Domail in Udhampur district alongwith, SSP Udhampur Amritpal IPS, Dysp Hq, SHO, IC PP Roun Domail The event, organised by the Roun Domail Youth Club, witnessed enthusiastic participation from local youth and residents. The DIG attended the programme as Chief Guest and stressed the importance of sports in promoting discipline, unity and a healthy lifestyle among the younger generation. Addressing the gathering, Sharma appreciated the efforts of the organisers and urged the youth to stay away from drugs by engaging in constructive and positive activities. He said sports can play a vital role in building a strong and drug-free society. Special Guest Rakshan Sharma and Guest of Honour Dr. Nitin also addressed the participants and encouraged the youth to remain united against the growing menace of drugs while contributing towards social welfare and community development. During the programme, several volunteers and social workers, including Ansh Ranyal, Balwan Singh, Chet Ram, Gurudev Singh, Tanetar Singh and Ansh Singh, were felicitated for their contribution towards the successful conduct of the event. The programme concluded with a collective pledge to spread awareness against drug abuse and work together for building a responsible and drug-free society. |
