Scores of PDP workers led by its senior leader Shahzad Khan took to the streets chanting slogans against the Center and the State Governments. The protestors were demanding with drawl of security forces and draconian laws including the Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) and Disturbed Area Act from Jammu and Kashmir.

While addressing the protestors, Shahzad Khan said the coalition Government has lost the moral authority to remain in power as it has failed to protect the honour and lives of the people. He further said the use of brutal force against the innocent people, especially the elected representatives, is bound to ignite another mass uprising across the Kashmir valley. He said the NC-Congress coalition has always proved a disaster for the people of Jammu and Kashmir and it looks like history being repeated once again. He said ever since the NC led coalition took over the reins of power in the state there has been an alarming increase in the incidents of human rights violation. He said the security agencies are out to crush the voice of people with brutality and barbarism.
