| Notorious drug peddler Narayan Sharma @Shunna booked under PITNDPS Act by Samba police | | |  Early Times Report
SAMBA, May 20: Taking stringent action against notorious drug peddlers/ smugglers involved in illicit narcotics trade, Samba Police has booked a notorious drug peddler under the provisions of "Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances" (PITNDPS) Act for his continuous involvement in spreading drug menace in the area and lodged him in Central Jail Kotbhalwal, Jammu.
The notorious drug peddler detained under PITNDPS Act has been identified as Narayan Sharma @Shunna S/o Brita Lal Sharma R/o Ward No. 01 Vijaypur tehsil Vijaypur district Samba. The said drug peddler has been involved in multiple cases registered under NDPS Act at Police Station Ramgarh of district Samba and Police Station R.S. Pura of district Jammu for his continuous illegal activities of drug peddling.
The said accused is a criminal minded person and also a member of the infamous Shallu Gang. He is a habitual drug peddler and poses a serious threat to the health and welfare of the people especially the youth of the area.
In view of repeated indulgence of notorious drug peddler Narayan Sharma @Shunna in illicit drug trafficking, SSP Samba prepared and submitted dossier & connected documents to the office of the Divisional Commissioner Jammu. Accordingly, notorious drug peddler Narayan Sharma @Shunna has been lodged in Central Jail Kotbhalwal, Jammu after obtaining a formal detention order from the Divisional Commissioner Jammu.
Samba Police reiterated its unwavering commitment and resolve to take stringent action against drug peddlers and smugglers to effectively curb the drug menace and ensure a safe, drug-free society. |
