DODA, May 21: Continuing its sustained drive against drug trafficking under Nasha Mukt Jammu Kashmir Abhiyaan, Doda Police achieved another success by apprehending a drug peddler and recovering approximately 90/100 grams of charas-like substance at Domail Thalella Morh, Thathri, under the leadership of SHO Thathri.
A DD entry No. 18 dated 20-05-2026 was received at Police Station Thathri from Police Post Karara stating therein that HC Shah Din along with police officials, while performing naka checking duty at Domail Thalella Morh vide DDR No. 17 dated 20-05-2026, intercepted one scooty bearing registration No. JK06C-2204 which was coming from Cheralla side towards Thalella.
During checking and search of the scooty rider, the police party recovered approximately 90/100 grams of charas-like substance from his possession. During enquiry, the accused was identified as: Binu Kumar S/o Om Raj R/o Sharni, Tehsil Chiralla.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the accused was allegedly carrying the contraband substance for selling purposes.
Accordingly, a case FIR No. 47/2026 under Sections 8/20/25 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Thathri and investigation of the case is in progress.
Doda Police remains committed towards eradicating the menace of drugs and appeals to the general public to cooperate with police by sharing information related to drug trafficking and substance abuse in their areas. |
