Early Times Report JAMMU, May 21: Social transformation programme Asluk Aaalav based on five major reformative agendas was held at Shopian today. This event was organised by Public Welfare Foundation Shopian. J&K Waqf Board Chairperson, Dr Syed Darakhshan Andrabi and BJP General Secretary (Organisation) Ashok Koul addressed the event. Waqf Board Executive Officer for Shopian Javed Qadiri and political leader and social activiat Arshid Bhat were also present during the programme. In her address Dr Andrabi said that 'Asluk Aalav' is a very potent social transformation and public discourse initiative which is regularly being held in all districts of Kashmir. She said that vibrant societies need to care about the future and this program series is focusing on issues which are going to determine our future society. "Strengthening Cultural & Spiritual ties with our glorious past are needed for a crime free society. We belong to the holy land of Sufis and rishis and the connection with their teachings of inclusiveness will save us from divisive forces": Dr Darakhshan. She said that for a drug free, violence free and immorality free society, we need to guide our new generation with a broader holistic approach of living in harmony with nature. "We have been hugely hurt by hate and violence in the past, and we cannot afford to bear the brunt of the divisive forces again. In his address, Ashok Koul Ji said that we have to prepare our youth for the challenges of the modern world and make than positive thinking responsible citizens so that they are able to live healthy both physically as well as mentally. "Communal Harmony, brotherhood and spirit of social service is a must for creating a peaceful society. We have to create bridges to link the gaps within our social fabric", said Ashok Koul. He said that intercommunity dialogue and socual discourse are a must for a peaceful developing society.
