| BJP SUBMITS MEMORANDUM TO PRESIDENT OF INDIA | | | Jammu,July 15 : The state unit of the BJP on Saturday submitted memorandum to the President of India Dr APJ Abdul Kalam through divisional commissioner Jammu urging him not to allow the conversion of Indian state in to a soft state. Through their memorandum the BJP leaders also raised the issue of the abolition of POTA by the UPA government immediately after its installation in May 2004. The BJP leaders said that for parties like Congress the national interests are subservient to the vote politics.
The memorandum was submitted by group of senior BJP leaders lead by senior Vice President and MP Rajya Sabha Bala Sahib Apte,State BJP Chief Dr Nirmal Singh,former MLA Ashok Khajuria,Shamsher Singh Manhas and several others. Expressing their deep concern over the internal security scenario in the country, in the aftermath of Mumbai blasts, the BJP leaders said, it is the time to act and act decisively and avert the impending disaster. “The nation is passing through critical times as far as its security and integrity is concerned.The activities of anti-national elements are now not just confined to Jammu and Kashmir. The terrorists have reached Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Ayodhya, Benaras and are posing a great threat to the internal security of the country.
