Early Times Report JAMMU, May 28: The Department of Chemistry and Chemical Sciences, Central University of Jammu, under the visionary leadership of Vice Chancellor Prof. Sanjeev Jain, organized a Mentoring Event: Demo Day of Business Plans & Mentor Linkages on the theme "The Real Journey After Post-graduation: Lessons from the Ground" in collaboration with the Institution's Innovation Council (IIC) today. The programme was conducted at the Swami Vivekananda Auditorium, Aryabhata Building, CUJ Jammu, as part of the Institution's Innovation Council (IIC). The IIC, an initiative of the Ministry of Education, Government of India, aims to promote innovation, entrepreneurship, and startup culture among students and faculty members by encouraging ideation and problem-solving approaches for real-world challenges. The event commenced with the welcome address by Dr. Sujata Kundan, Head, Department of Chemistry and Chemical Sciences, who introduced the invited expert speaker, Mr. Vinay Sharma, General Manager - Operations (Cluster Head Operations, North India), Berger Paints India. Delivering an insightful lecture titled "The Real Journey After Post-graduation: Lessons from the Ground," Mr. Sharma shared valuable experiences from his professional journey and highlighted the realities and challenges faced after post-graduation. He emphasized the significance of adaptability, perseverance, practical exposure, and industry-oriented learning for achieving success in the industrial and corporate sectors. His interaction with students provided motivation and practical guidance regarding career development and professional growth. The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from nearly 75 undergraduate and postgraduate students including B.Sc. (Hons.), M.Sc., and M.Sc. Chemistry students, along with research scholars and faculty members. Distinguished faculty members present during the event included Prof. (Dr.) Pawan Kumar, Dr. Satyanarayana Battula, Dr. K. Kanagaraj, Dr. Princy Gupta, Dr. Akshay Kumar, and Dr. Indranil Chatterjee. The event concluded with a formal vote of thanks delivered by the Co-convener of the department, expressing gratitude to the guest speaker, faculty members, organizers, and students for their active participation and support in making the programme successful. |
