REASI, May 28: Continuing its sustained drive against drug menace under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu Kashmir Abhiyan, Reasi Police achieved another success by apprehending a drug peddler and recovering heroin (Chitta) from his possession at Katra.
On 27.05.2026, a police party of Police Station Katra while performing naka checking duty at Ambika Chowk, Katra, intercepted one suspicious person namely Ashok Kumar S/O Gagu R/O Matyal, Tehsil Katra, who was coming from Asia Chowk towards Fountain Chowk, Katra. During checking and personal search of the said person, approximately 2.5 grams of heroin (Chitta) was recovered from his possession.
In this regard, a case FIR No. 165/2026 under Sections 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Katra and further investigation has been taken up.
Reasi Police remains committed towards eradicating the drug menace from the society and appeals to the general public to cooperate with police by sharing any information related to drug peddling or substance abuse in their areas. |
