Early Times Report YOL (HIMACHAL PRADESH), May 29: Yol (Himachal Pradesh) May 29:: On the 48th day of the ongoing 78-day Yajna Anushthan of all four Vedas at Ved Mandir, Yol (H.P.), Yogacharya Swami Ram Swarup Ji explained the significance of the Samaveda to the devotees. Referring to Bhagavad Gita verse 10/22, he said that Lord Shri Krishna Maharaj states, "Among the four Vedas, I am the Samaveda." Swami Ji further explained that the true and profound meaning of Bhagavad Gita verse 10/22 can only be understood after studying the Vedas under the guidance and shelter of a learned scholar. He said that Yogeshwar Shri Krishna Maharaj, having merged in the Almighty God, declared Himself as the form of God and, speaking on behalf of the Almighty, said, "I am the Samaveda among the four Vedas." Here, the word "I" refers to the Almighty God. He stated that the Samaveda is the "Upasana Kand" (the section related to worship). Swami Ji added that the Almighty Himself has expressed similar sentiments in Samaveda Mantras 258 and 388, as well as Rigveda Mantra 8/98/1, wherein it is said: "O Rishis and Munis! Sing the glory of the Samaveda, which is the greatest among the Vedas, for Almighty God, the creator of the Vedas." Swami Ji pointed out that in these mantras, the Almighty Himself has described the Samaveda as the greatest among the four Vedas. He further said that people may interpret Bhagavad Gita verse 10/22 according to their own minds influenced by Rajoguna, Tamoguna, and Satoguna without acquiring Vedic knowledge, but the evidence and authority of eternal Vedic mantras are indisputable. In this context, he quoted Sankhya Shastra Sutra 2/25:"Na Kalpana Virodhah Pramanadrishtasya" meaning, "That which is established through valid proof cannot be contradicted merely on the basis of imagination."Swami Ji remarked that these are the words of the ancient Rishis, but the present age has increasingly opposed the teachings of the Rishis and the divine Vedic knowledge revealed by God due to selfish motives. As a result, modern mankind has largely deviated from the truth. He urged everyone to return to the Vedas, study them sincerely, and follow the teachings laid down in the scriptures of the Rishis. Referring to Shatapath Brahmana Granth Shloka 1/1/2/17, he said that the Rishi has declared that those divine beings who are knowers of the Vedas always speak the truth, whereas ordinary human beings often speak falsehood. |
