| J&K residents to have unique ID cards | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, June 05- The government has accorded sanction to the constitution of a State Level Advisory Board to ensure coordination amongst various departments for smooth implementation of the Unique Identification Project for assigning a Unique Identification Number by the Unique Identification Authority of India for every resident in India. Chief Secretary, will be the chairman of the board with Financial Commissioner, Planning & Development, Financial Commissioner, Home, Commissioner/Secretary, Finance, Secretary Rural development, Secretary Consumer Affairs & Public Distribution, and Secretary Revenue, as Members and State Informatics Officer, NIC, as Special invitee.
The Planning & Development Department shall be the Nodal department of the State for the project and Secretary in the Planning & Development Department shall function as Member Secretary of the State Level Advisory Board in addition to his own duties till a Commissioner, UIDAI is appointed by the Government of India for J&K State.
