Early Times Report JAMMU, May 30: Two-day course on "Ethics and Soft Skills" which commenced at SKPA on 29.05.2026, culminated today i.e. on 30.05.2026. A total of 23 officers of J&K Police participated in the training programme. The programme highlighted the importance of ethical conduct, effective communication, empathy and interpersonal skills in policing. As first responders in the criminal justice system, police personnel must attend to crime victims with patience, sensitivity and promptness. Participants were sensitized to treat victims and complainants with compassion and respect, recognizing their right to access justice and receive timely assistance. The broad contours of police-public interaction were also discussed, emphasizing that trust, mutual respect and transparency are essential for strengthening police-community relations and ensuring effective service delivery. Eminent guest faculty from SMVDU and Central University were invited to deliver lectures on themes relevant to the course. A valedictory function was organized on the occasion. Shri Rajesh Kumar, IPS, Dy. Director, SKPA attended as the Chief Guest and advised the participants to adopt a people-friendly approach in the discharge of their duties and to disseminate the knowledge gained during the course among their fellow police personnel.
