| Vedic wisdom on charity, worship and knowledge shared at 78-day Yajna in Yol | | | Early Times Report YOL (HIMACHAL PRADESH), May 30: On the 49th day of the ongoing 78-day Yajna dedicated to the study and recitation of all four Vedas at Ved Mandir, Yol, renowned Vedic scholar and Yoga Acharya Swami Ram Swarup Ji delivered an enlightening discourse based on Samaveda Mantras 388, 389 and 1683, emphasizing the eternal values of divine worship, righteous association and charity. Explaining Samaveda Mantra 388, Swami Ji stated that Almighty God is the creator and revealer of the Vedas, referred to in the mantra as "Brahmakrite." He urged devotees to sing and contemplate the teachings of the Samaveda, described as the greatest among the four Vedas for its profound spiritual melodies and wisdom. Referring to Mantra 389, Swami Ji explained that God especially blesses charitable and generous individuals with prosperity and wealth. Elaborating further through Mantra 1683, he said that those who willingly donate their cherished possessions for noble causes transcend sins and attain spiritual elevation. He stressed that the Vedas place immense importance on three fundamental principles-Dev Pooja (divine worship), Sangatikaran (association with learned scholars), and Daan (charity). Swami Ji elaborated that Dev Pooja signifies offering respect and reverence to parents, Vedic scholars, guests and the Almighty through the recitation of Vedic mantras and sincere worship in accordance with Vedic teachings. Sangatikaran, he said, means keeping the company of learned Vedic scholars, serving them and acquiring true knowledge from them. The third principle, Daan, involves making charitable contributions in Yajnas and to deserving recipients. He emphasized that a person who sincerely follows these three Vedic ideals gradually overcomes all sorrows and obstacles in life and ultimately realizes the divine presence of God within the heart.The discourse inspired devotees to embrace the timeless teachings of the Vedas and incorporate selfless service, spiritual discipline and generosity into their daily lives for individual and societal upliftment. |
