Early Times Report JAMMU, May 30: A five-day Motapa Shivir organized by Bahu District of Bharatiya Yog Sansthan concluded at Green Belt Park, Gandhi Nagar. Around 45 participants actively took part in the camp and benefited from the yoga sessions, health guidance, and lifestyle counseling provided during the programme. In addition to this camp, Bahu District also conducted a five-day Motapa Shivir at Channi Himmat (Aap Shambu Class). Another special ladies' camp, being led by Anupama Puri District Sanghathan Mantri, is presently in progress during the evening hours at Paanch Mandir, Channi Himmat. Participants described these camps as highly beneficial for society at large. Bharatiya Yog Sansthan has been conducting such health and wellness camps free of cost with the objective of promoting a healthy lifestyle through yoga. Similar camps are also being organized by various districts of the Sansthan across Jammu and Udhampur districts. The camps at Bahu District are being conducted under the supervision of CA Vinay Saraf Pantiya Sadas and District President Ravinder Kumar. Senior office-bearers of the Sansthan visited the camps regularly and provided valuable insights on the harmful effects of obesity. They also guided participants regarding healthy daily routines, balanced dietary habits, and lifestyle practices essential for maintaining fitness and preventing obesity. Col. V S Jamwal highlighted importance of Yog Manjri (quarterly Magazine of BYS on Yog) and stressed that this patrika plays an important role in connecting the general masses with yog through various yog related topics. Among the senior functionaries who visited during the camp were Jia Lal Sharma Prantiya Mantri, Mohani Sharma and Col. V. S. Jamwal both Prantiya Sadas. Others present on various occasions included Dinesh Nayer, Vijay Mahanoori, Dharampal, Subhash Gupta, Ashok Dhawan, Vireshwar Jamwal, Sham Lal and Vijay Phoa. On the concluding day, K.B. Jandial (Retd. IAS) graced the occasion and blessed all the participants. In his address, he emphasized the need to encourage the younger generation to adopt yoga in view of their increasingly sedentary lifestyle. He highlighted that regular practice of yoga can play a significant role in maintaining physical fitness, mental well-being, and overall health. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks to all participants, yoga volunteers, and dignitaries who contributed to the success of the camp. |
