| Doda Migrant seeking relief at par with Kashmir migrants | | HC issues contempt notice to Commissioner Relief | | Early Times Report Jammu, Jun 06- Jammu and Kashmir High Court today directed Registry to issue notice to Commissioner Relief and Rehabilitation (M) to appear in person to show cause as to why he be not proceeded under the provisions of contempt of Court Act. This direction was passed in a contempt petition filed by the Doda Migrants seeking relief at par with Kashmir migrants. The Court directed that the case should be listed for consideration immediately after vacation when Relief and Rehabilitation (M) Jammu shall appear in person. Justice J P Singh observed that the perusal of the report submitted by the Relief Commissioner (M) Jammu does not indicate anything whether petitioners have been allowed relief which they were entitled to after being treated alike migrants of Kashmir Valley in terms of judgment delivered by this Court on November 29, 2005. Prima facie case of violation of the Court’s directions has been made out against Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner (M) who is directed to appear in person, the Court directed. Additional Advocate General AH Qazi, appearing for state respondents, was allowed time to file statement of facts to the petition which has been filed by the petitioners seeking initiation contempt of Court proceedings for respondent’s willful disobedience of this Court’s judgment passed on November 29, 2005.
