Early Times Report UDHAMPUR, June 5: On the occasion of World Environment Day, DIG UR Range Shiv Kumar Sharma, IPS, launched a plantation drive at Range Police Headquarters Udhampur and planted saplings along with officers and officials of RPHQ Udhampur. The DIG UR Range also continued the plantation drive at CRPF 6th BN HQ Katra, SMVD Shrine Board Office premises Katra, Police Station Katra reaffirming commitment towards environment conservation and sustainable development. The DIG UR Range who along with Sh. Sachin Kumar Vaishya-IAS CEO SMVD Shrine, Mukund Tibrewal-IPS SSP Reasi, Sh. Pardeep Kumar Giri, CO 6th BN CRPF, Addl. SP Katra, SDPO Katra SHO PS Katra and other officers/officials. The drive aimed to promote environmental awareness, encourage eco-friendly practices, and contribute towards building a greener and healthier region. Addressing the participants, Shri Shiv Kumar Sharma-IPS, emphasized the importance of environmental protection and highlighted the collective responsibility of every citizen to preserve nature for future generations. He stated that police personnel, being an integral part of society, should lead by example in promoting environmental sustainability and spreading awareness among the public. He further observed that plantation drives not only enhance the beauty of the surroundings but also play a crucial role in combating climate change, improving air quality and maintaining ecological balance. He urged the participants to actively participate in environmental conservation efforts and adopt sustainable practices in their daily lives. The event concluded with all participants taking a pledge to continue contributing towards environmental protection and to work collectively for a cleaner, greener and more sustainable future. |
