Early Times Report JAMMU, June 6: As part of the ongoing Nasha Mukt J&K Abhiyan, District Police Jammu organized a Police Community Partnership Group (PCPG)-cum-Drug Awareness Programme at Kullian, Miran Sahib, aimed at strengthening police-public cooperation and generating awareness against the menace of drug abuse. The programme was attended by SP Headquarters Jammu, SDPO R.S. Pura, local residents, community members, and prominent citizens of the area. MLA Mohinder Bhagat and Former MLA Garu Ram Bhagat also graced the occasion and interacted with the participants. Speaking on the occassion, SP Headquarters, Jammu addressed the issue of drug abuse among children. She stressed the important role of parents in befriending their children to keep them away from drugs. Addressing the women, she emphasised that mothers play the most crucial role in keeping their children and family on the right track of fitness and health. She urged all persons to come forward to assist the police and point out drug peddlers and abusers. Participants were sensitized about the harmful effects of narcotics on individuals, families, and society and were encouraged to actively support law enforcement agencies by sharing information regarding drug peddlers and other anti-social elements. The PCPG interaction provided a valuable platform for residents to raise local issues and concerns. Police officers assured the participants that all genuine concerns would be addressed promptly and reiterated the commitment of Jammu Police towards ensuring public safety, maintaining law and order, and strengthening community policing. The programme concluded with a pledge by the participants to actively support the campaign against drugs and contribute towards building a safe, healthy, and drug-free society. |
