| Special athletes of state to participate in national coaching camp Amritsar | | | Early Times Report Jammu, June 6: Special Athletes-Intellectually Challenged of Special Olympics Bharat J&K Chapter is fully prepared to participate in national coaching camp which is organized at Amritsar Punjab w.e.f. 22nd June to 28th June under the banner of Special Olympics Bharat Punjab Chapter where special athletes of 14 states are participating. All the arrangements have been finalized and are all set to participate in national coaching camp with flying colours. In this national event special athletes of Kashmir Division and Jammu Division are participating. The institutes and special schools devoted to the cause of intellectually disabled which are actively taking lead are Prerna Institute of Rehabilitation and Research Sahyog India R.S. Pura, Sahara Special School, Rotary Inner Wheel Home for M R. Children, St. John’s Rehabilitation Centre of Jammu district, Asha Special School of Udhampur, Sahyog Rehabilitation Centre of Kathua and Chotay Taray Foundation, Life Care Centre for Handicapped of Srinagar, Help Line Humanity Welfare Organization of Anantnag and Jammu. According to national director special Olympics Bharat GP Capt (Retd.) Colly de Souza, national chairman Air Marshall (Retd.) Denzin Keelor is very keen to enhance special Olympics sports activities in the J&K state as the state chapter has done miracles in very little time of one and half year since launching in November 2007. To review all the arrangements for camp at Amritsar a review meeting of state executive committee was held under the chairmanship of Ram Sahai and was presided over by Dr. Ashivini Jojra, president SOB-JK in which all the members were present.
