| PDP leaders hit street in Jammu as weather betters | | |

JAMMU: Soaring mercury in Jammu has definitely played a great role in the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) politics of Jammu unit. As for the last one week temperature was above 40 degree centigrade in Jammu and political heat was higher in Kashmir over Shopian episode of which Mehbooba Mufti along with her Kashmir unit left no stone unturned to evolve political mileage.
Watching the on going strategy of Mehbooba and her legislatures as mute spectators PDP stalwarts of Jammu did not dared to come out or even to circulate a statement in support of their leader and president of the party. But suddenly witnessing that mild showers has changed the mood of Sun God, leaders take no time to come out to block the road at Gandhi Nagar outside their party office.
The billion dollar question is that what these leaders were waiting for and what compelled them to take to road after about a week? Simple answer is soaring heat does not allow them to come out their air conditioned compartments and what compelled them to come out is one the mild showers and secondly the pressure from high command. This whole scenario signifies that leaders of Jammu PDP not only lack coordination and communication with their counter parts in Valley but also could only see what made them to that too with out using their political intuitions.
Deeply placed sources in the party informed that Jammu unit of PDP was waiting for the action being taken by the government to sort out the issue at the earliest but there seems nothing concrete has been done so far. Besides showcasing solidarity with counter parts in Valley, Jammu unit of PDP came down to roads to awake the human rights volition watchers for immediate cognizance to be taken by them in the Shopian incident.
It is relevant to mention that during Amarnath land row several leaders deserted the party to secure their property and self as several leaders were assaulted even houses, vehicles and other properties were damaged by angry mob, after the culmination of Assembly elections unprecedented leaders and workers joined the party fold. Not only this but number of votes secured in both Assembly and Parliamentary elections signifies remarkable growth of the party in entire Jammu region but again it remains unanswered that why marginal number of workers and activists were present in the protest rally? People got inclined by the performance of party in Assembly elections and the rumors of becoming in power to repeat pervious coalition government but nothing like that happened and people distanced themselves from the party as people believe in getting their tasks done in time without waiting for five or six years till the next elections comes and the new government forms, political experts suggested.
