Early Times Report JAMMU, June 12: With the objective of making freight traffic and goods loading more convenient and customer-centric in Jammu Division, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Jammu Uchit Singhal and Senior Divisional Operations Manager, Jammu Aarish Bansal conducted a detailed inspection of Anantnag Goods Shed today, 12 June. During the inspection, the officers reviewed the goods loading-unloading process, condition of the platform, safety standards and yard operations at the goods shed. Both officers understood the issues faced in goods operations on the spot and issued instructions for prompt resolution as per Railway's new policies. Thereafter, the senior officers held a meeting with representatives of the goods business from Anantnag. The meeting included detailed discussions on new schemes related to freight movement, transparent booking process, availability of rake points and transparency in goods freight charges. Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Jammu Uchit Singhal said,* "The objective of Railways is to provide traders with fast, safe and economical cargo service under 'Gati Shakti Cargo'. Anantnag region is important for apples and other agricultural products. We will further simplify goods operations here, so that Kashmir's produce can reach markets across the country in less time. Suggestions from local traders will be implemented on a priority basis. Special attention is being given to punctuality of goods trains. If Railways and trade organizations work together, the economic development of the region will certainly increase." |
