6/13/2026 10:14:39 PM
Early Times Report
DODA, June 13: As part of the ongoing Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan and the sustained drive against drug abuse and illegal narcotic cultivation, Doda Police, in coordination with the Revenue Department, conducted a major wild cannabis (bhang) destruction operation in different parts of the district today. In the Bhargi area of Gandoh Sub-Division, a joint team of Police and Revenue authorities carried out a large-scale destruction drive during which wild cannabis spread over approximately two kanals of land was identified and destroyed on the spot. The operation was conducted under the leadership of SDPO Gandoh and SHO Gandoh, in coordination with the Tehsildar Gandoh.
Simultaneously, SHO Assar, along with his police team, conducted a similar operation in the Tarungal area, where wild cannabis spread over approximately one kanal of land was destroyed. These destruction drives form part of the district police's proactive strategy to curb the cultivation of narcotic plants, prevent drug abuse, and create greater public awareness regarding the harmful effects of narcotics on society, particularly among the youth.
With today's operation, District Police Doda has destroyed wild cannabis spread over a cumulative area of 43.5 kanals at various locations across the district under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan since 11 April 2026. This significant achievement reflects the unwavering commitment of Doda Police and allied departments towards eliminating illegal narcotic cultivation and building a drug-free society.
The anti-narcotics campaign shall continue with renewed vigor across the district to ensure a safer, healthier, and drug-free environment for all citizens.
