Sham Lal Sharma launches Rs 4.85 Crore SASCI restoration works in Ward No. 63

JAMMU, June 16: In a significant step towards strengthening urban infrastructure and improving civic amenities in Jammu North Assembly Constituency, MLA Jammu North Sham Lal Sharma today laid the foundation stone for restoration works worth ?4.85 crore in Ward No. 63, Thathar. The project will be executed by the Jammu Municipal Corporation under the SASCI initiative, aimed at restoring and upgrading civic infrastructure to ensure sustainable urban development and enhanced public convenience.
The restoration works will focus on improving roads, drainage systems and other essential public infrastructure, thereby addressing long-pending civic requirements and enhancing the quality of life of residents. The project is expected to provide a major boost to local infrastructure while supporting the planned development of the area.
On the occasion, Sham Lal Sharma said that the SASCI initiative reflects the continued focus of the Government of India on strengthening urban infrastructure and ensuring that development projects are complemented by the restoration and upgradation of public assets. He noted that such initiatives play an important role in creating better civic facilities and improving living standards for citizens.
He stated that the ?4.85 crore restoration project in Ward No. 63 will contribute significantly towards improving connectivity, drainage and other civic amenities, while accelerating the pace of development in Jammu North Assembly Constituency. He added that the project would help address key infrastructure requirements of the area and provide long-term benefits to local residents.
Sham Lal Sharma appreciated the support being extended through centrally sponsored urban development initiatives and reiterated his commitment to ensuring the effective implementation of developmental works across Jammu North. He emphasized that strengthening basic infrastructure remains essential for achieving sustainable growth and delivering better public services to citizens.
The foundation stone laying ceremony was attended by Former Councillor Shri Kuldeep Singh; Mandal President Shri Pankaj Padha; Executive Engineer, Jammu Municipal Corporation, Shri Sahil Arora;Assistant Executive Engineer Shri Shabab Rizvi; Junior Engineer Shri Rakesh Kumar, along with party functionaries, local residents and other prominent citizens.
