| Shun the path of violence: Azad to militants | | | Srinagar, Sep 25 On the eve of the holy month of Ramzan, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad has reiterated his call to militants to shun the path of violence and fulfil people’s desire for peace.
Felicitating people on the arrival of the holy month of Ramzan, Mr Azad said that ''the month provides us an opportunity to seek God’s forgiveness and blessings.'' He hoped the month of Ramzan would be a harbinger for peace and development of the state and the people, during the holy days of Ramzan would not only seek Allah’s Rehmat for themselves, but also for the state and the country.
He said ''holy Ramzan also makes us to control ourselves, curb desires, ill-thoughts and be polite to general people, especially to the needy. Ramzan also teaches us to help the poor and share our joy with them.'' Mr Azad directed the administration to provide all facilities to the people during the month of fasting and added that no complaint on account of the supply of adequate essentials should come from anywhere.
He stressed upon the divisional administration to streamline the water and power supply position and ensure that people get smooth supply of electricity and water.
He also asked officers to keep an eye on the rate structure of essentials and curb profiteering and black-marketing with an iron hand.
